Emergency Shelter in Dakota County
We are operating a temporary winter shelter for 50 adults in Dakota County from November 1, 2017 through April 1, 2018. The shelter opens nightly at 6:00 p.m. and closes at 8:00 a.m. Dinner and breakfast will be served daily. The shelter will open at Grace Lutheran Church in Apple Valley on November 1st and will move to other churches throughout Dakota County If you are interested in serving dinner, making donations, helping to move the shelter between sites, or be volunteering as a Shelter Aid, visit our Volunteer page. If you or someone you know is in need of shelter in Dakota County, please call 651-319-2153.

Coordinated Entry Assessment Project
Three staff meet with single adults who are staying in shelter in Hennepin County to complete an assessment to identify the best housing and support services to meet their need. The assessment is a series of questions about the individual, questions about the individual's housing preferences, and then collecting housing history. If you have stayed in a Hennepin County shelter for at least two weeks, you can contact our assessor at 612-790-5036 to schedule a time to complete an assessment.

Rapid Rehousing Project
Our rapid rehousing project currently serves families and individuals in Dakota and Hennepin Counties. Entry into the program is restricted to individuals and families who are currently homeless and are referred by Hennepin and Dakota Counties. We provide housing search assistance, moving assistance, and ongoing case management. Participants sign leases for private market apartments throughout the metro. Once housed, we meet with participants regularly to provide support services and provide rental assistance until the participant is able to maintain stable housing without supports.
